Child with Learning Difficulties
Having a child with learning difficulties (or a disability) is challenging for the child, family and school. The family may not know how to help. The child may also disengage from learning and want to avoid school that is trying to seek funding to support the child but needs a diagnosis to do that.
The assessment can involve interview, reading of material provided (past reports for example), a selection of assessment tests, feedback about results, diagnosis (if appropriate) and recommendations.
Students in primary and secondary schools may be eligible for learning support plans. Universities can help with allowing more time for exams, for example.
